Dr. Barnard is assisted by Terrance Lohman and Ross Barnard.

Dr. Patricia Shelly Lohman passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Dec. 30, 2022. In June 2000, Patti started Amelia Audiology with her husband and was well-loved by all of her patients. She was assisted by her husband, Terry. Her love of her patients and dedication to helping others made her a well-loved member of the Fernandina Beach community.

What is an Audiologist? A certified clinical audiologist has completed a graduate program and received a Doctorate degree in audiology.  In addition, many states also have licensing requirements which will further define the scope of practice for the clinical audiologist.

Professional comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations are provided for all ages. Hearing aid fittings by a Doctor of Audiology are available for all ages.

Why should I go to an Audiologist for my hearing aids? In all of the medical specialties and allied health specialties, only the audiologist has the formal graduate education focusing on the measurement, evaluation and diagnosis of hearing disorders.  The unique skills and professional standards of an audiologist offer the consumer the highest level of hearing health care as it relates to the evaluation for the selection of and the instruction in the use of hearing instruments.

Amelia Audiology provides hearing instruments from all major hearing aid manufacturers and provides cleaning and repair service for all makes and models of hearing aids.  For information about hearing aids, please call our office at 904-491-1515.
